Press release

The date of Shakespeare's birth and death is 23 April.

On the 23 April 2024 the English version of  'Shakespeare is here' will be launched. Where? It depends on the publisher.

The novel is very up-to-date with lockdowns caused by the plague, drugs, complot plot thinking, intersex, parodies and political cartoons.

'Shakespeare is here' is not only a biography and triptych based on historical facts, but also a  'Remake of the Praise of Folly'.

The first act is a historical play.

In 1609 William Shakesperare disembarks as William Flut at the Veerstal in Gouda, escaping the Plague in London.

In Saint John Church in Gouda, he meets Martijntje Jasper's daughter, who is married to William Baernelts, a potter originally from Bromyard in England. Together, both men start the first pipe workshop at Achter de Vischmarkt in Gouda.

The second act is a comedy.

Shakespeare remains in London and Stratford upon Avon. Due to the Gunpowder plot, a morbid, typical Shakespearean tragedy develops from the brain of the master scriptwriter.

The third act is a tragedy.

William arrives in Gouda again due to the hunt of the sheriffs in the cold case of the Gunpowder Plot. Shakespeare had to invent the plot of his life. After Barends has died, William hopes to marry Martijntje and live safely in Gouda. The Chief of the Dutch Intelligence Service happens to live in Gouda.

‘To be buried or not to be buried in St John's, that is the mystery.

The authors, Thom & Griffie don't stop at the grave of Shakespeare, but go on with his resurrection, for Shakespeare is here!

Lets celebrate the annual Shakespeare Day of 23 April, full of  poems, rap, music and acts on stage.
